Held In Transit
3D Crafting | Dec 2019
Building on the familiar form of an umbrella with water, the work frames an interior condition where containment and exposure remain in tension. The enclosed element introduces a sense of displacement, positioned within a constructed environment that suggests both protection and separation.
In relation to movement across cultural and geographic contexts, the piece reflects on states of transition and adaptation from the form and the tranquil dark blue color tone.
It considers how elements can be carried across environments while remaining partially dislocated, negotiating between preservation and transformation, and never fully fixed within a single condition of belonging.
